Seeing the Sacred
Learn to see the sacred in everyday life.
The sacred isn’t separate from daily life — it’s hidden in plain sight. Over four sessions, this course invites you to develop eyes to see it. Using your smartphone camera as a tool for paying attention, you'll respond to weekly prompts that help you notice where you encounter the sacred: in spaces that ground you, moments that stop you, connections that sustain you, and the ordinary rhythms of everyday life.

Overview
Session 1: Sacred Places
Where do you go when you need to feel grounded? This session invites you to photograph the places in your everyday life where you experience peace, awe, wonder, and connection. These locations might be in the a corner of your home, on a bench in the park, or somewhere at work or school.
Session 2 | Sacred Moments
The sacred rarely announces itself. It shows up in a sunrise, a shared meal, a moment of unexpected laughter. This session asks you to slow down long enough to notice—and photograph—the moments this week that made you pause. What everyday moments reveal about the sacred is often what they reveal about us.
Session 3: Sacred Connections
Belonging leaves traces. A well-worn worn chair. A handwritten note. A table set for more than one person. This session invites you to compose photos that speak to your connections with others—the relationships and communities that shape who you are, how you move through the world, and with whom you nurture meaning and purpose in life.
Session 4: Sacred Frames
Your coffee cup. Your shoes by the door. A traffic light turning green. This session asks you to look at something completely ordinary and find what's hiding inside of it. When the mundane becomes meaningful, something has shifted in how you see.
