Faith Contexts and Understandings
This picture is Pushto version of the Gospel. Pushto is a historic language widely spoken in Pakistan’s province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The people who speak this language known as “Pathans” all around the world. The picture is taken in the library situated inside a hospital where I work. The location is far flung and underdeveloped. The majority community patients while passing by the wards of the hospital see it very often. They read it. They read it in their own contextual language understandability. When they have conservations with Christians working in the hospital they get a chance of dialogue between each other. This dialogue provides a way of bridge between the two faith communicators. It gives a chance for healthy interfaith dialogue which is positive aspect for Christians living in a city surrounded by the majority community and presence of Christians is just a number.
