Director of Engagement

Joshua is convinced pluralism is a beautiful and good thing, and helping others to see this is one of his greatest pleasures.

As a Catholic, Joshua has benefited from drawing from many wells. He studied Muslim and Christian religious history and political theologies at a Methodist seminary, Boston University School of Theology, while interning at a Jewish rabbinical school, Hebrew College. His two most impactful mentors during graduate school were a Muslim Qur'anic Studies scholar and a rabbi with a penchant for interfaith dialogue. Following graduation, he worked at Hebrew College supporting high school and undergraduate interfaith leadership training efforts and marketing for the rabbinical school. Every facet of the job was inherently interfaith.

He brings to the Interfaith Photovoice team his strengths and experiences in interreligious literacy and leadership training, bridgebuilding skills, as well as strategic communication. He is a trained photovoice facilitator and is passionate about using the methodology for community building and social activism.

When he is not facilitating conversations about photos in our work, he is writing about moving images in his work as a Rotten Tomatoes individually certified film critic.
